Stop grubs before the roots go

Grubs are June beetle larvae that spend late summer eating grass roots an inch below the surface. The lawn looks thirsty, you water more, and it keeps browning, because the roots are gone. The tell: dead patches that lift like loose carpet.

The fix is timing. Preventive treatment lands when eggs hatch in early summer; curative treatment can still knock down an active infestation caught early. The techs check for grubs on every program visit, which is how infestations get caught before the carpet test.
